Onam time...

Apologies for the late post.. but well.. better late..

First Onam at IDC for our batch.. and the best one.. the non-mallus will also agree with this... Nobody amongst us had much idea about a pookkalam before this day... The way it came out.. we were more than happy! :)

It all started at 12'o clock in the night when the mallus brainstormed and our chief designer Vinny the phoo came up with a great design..

Morning 3:30 a.m. : somehow managed to pull ourselves up and went to Dadar..

Yes.. thats our very own harried hari puttar..eyes wide open(for a change)..

We all know Mumbai never sleeps, and Dadar station lives upto it.. So much hustle-bustle even in the wee hours..

Aur ye raha hamara phoolwala:

We had a truckload.. sorry cabload of flowers to carry.. Somehow managed to get a good porter to get the stuff to IIT :D..

In the meanwhile our junta had swept the pookkalam space and laid out the design.. The flowers arrived in sometime..

Separating the petals from the flowers was one hell of a task... Great job guys..

We needed an excuse to bunk the morning lecture.. what better reason! ;)

So.. There's our pookkalam.. ready to be lighted... :)

Once done we changed to our traditional 'mundu' attire..

We decided to make the occasion more auspicious by inviting our profs to ignite the velakku (lamp) and of course there were the sweetmeats to be distributed..

Wow... this looks good.. now..where are the sweets?

Harish seems to be convincing that the pookallam idea is not as komblikated as his toy!

After a long wait Vinny the phoo gets matches... Ah! Khush to bahut hoge tum...

Now the most awaited moment.. sweets... we had to drop the payasam plan as 'Maddoo' was closed..

Then there was the photo op session... Lots of them but didn't want to bore you guys..

The fun doesn't end here... we all felt we had worked very hard and it was time to party :D.. So we went to a Malwani joint called Solkadi.. The food was deleeeecious... yummy..

Well.. what after dinner? We felt it would be injustice to the dinner if we don't top it up with a dessert... so.. next destination... CCD..

After goofing around for sometime we felt that this is not the right place... will go somewhere else... So after pissing off the CCD waiters we moved on to Shivsagar.. Must say was a good decision..

Burrp!! Sorry.. After all this sumptous dinner we somehow dragged ourselves back to IIT... then what? Zzzzzzz.....

Ah! What a day...
